Lucky Stiff

Book and Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens;
Musical score by Stephen Flaherty
Directed by Kathy Brombacher

PLAY SYNOPSIS

LUCKY STIFF is a zany musical farce with book/Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music composed by Stephen Flaherty (together they wrote RAGTIME THE MUSICAL, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, ANASTASIA and many more). The musical is based on a British mystery and has hilarious characters wrapped up in the story of a British shoe salesman (Harry Witherspoon), who lives a dull life but dreams of adventure. Suddenly, a telegram arrives from his American uncle saying that Harry will inherit 6 million dollars IF he honors his dead uncle’s last wish: to take his embalmed body on a wild gambling vacation to Monte Carlo. If Harry refuses, the money will go to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn.

LUCKY STIFF is a musical with crazy twists and a clever musical score; it’s also an ensemble musical, where many people double or triple characters.
