Synopsis
Sam Peliczowski is an out-of-work actor who runs the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan’s top restaurant. Coercion, threats, bribes, histrionics – a cast of desperate callers will stop at nothing in their zeal to land a prime reservation, or the right table. Amid the barrage, Sam must contend with a recently widowed dad who wants Sam home for Christmas, and Sam is up for a choice part at Lincoln Center. Can Sam handle their own priorities while juggling scheming socialites, name-dropping wannabes, fickle celebrities and egomaniacal bosses?
A wonderful acting challenge, FULLY COMMITTED has forty wildly diverse characters designed to be played by a single versatile performer.
Character Breakdown
Sam Peliczowski (to play age 20-40, any gender identity, any ethnicity) – Out-of-work actor whose day job is taking reservations for Manhattan’s hottest restaurant. Sam must deal with a myriad of callers who all desperately want a reservation, as well as Sam’s own family and professional demands. Requires highly versatile performer able to portray forty wildly diverse characters.
Self Tape Auditions
Auditions are by video submission only. To submit, please self-tape TWO monologues, each no more than 90 seconds. Choose monologues that show two distinct, contrasting characters.Upload via a service such as YouTube or Google Drive, and send link, (NO ATTACHMENTS) along with a current headshot and resume, to auditions@scrippsranchtheatre.org.
